Fr.
Joseph A. Bracken, SJ, a professor of theology at Xavier University,
Cincinnati, Ohio, recently published The One in the Many: A Contemporary
Reconstruction of the God-World Relationship.
In
the Foreword, Philip Clayton said, "One cannot help but welcome
a perceptive and well-informed book that attempts a 'reconstruction'
of metaphysics in response to some of its most vocal critics....
This book makes two important contributions and should thus be of
interest to two separate audiences. It is a contribution to the
ongoing task of formulating an adequate doctrine of God in the face
of modern skeptical critiques. It is also for those interested in
the fate of religion in general, and belief in God in particular,
in what many are now calling a 'postmodern' age... The arguments
are accessible to the non-professional while still making contributions
to the academic discussion."
Other
titles by Fr. Bracken include: The Triune Symbol, The Divine Matrix,
and Society and Spirit: a Trinitarian Cosmology. He was also coeditor
of Trinity in Process: A Relational Theology of God.
Copies
of The One in the Many, published by William B. Eerdmans, are avaialble

Fr. David Stagaman, SJ, who teaches at the Jesuit School of Theology
at Berkeley, and doctoral students James Kraft, and Kristin Sutton
have recently released Wittgenstein & Religion, a bibliography
of articles, books, and theses in the twentieth century that relate
the philosophy of Ludwig Wittgenstein to the study of religion and
theology.
The
comprehensive collection of references to the work and thought of
Wittgenstein will surely be useful for students of theology around
the world.
Wittgenstein
& Religion is being published by the Office of Research and
Publications at Ateneo De Manila University.
