On Saturday June 11, 2005, Jesuits from the Chicago Province gathered at St. Ignatius Parish along with family, friends, and benefactors to ordain James C. Collins, SJ, and David G. De Marco, SJ, for priestly ministry. Francis Cardinal George served as the ordaining bishop for the stirring two-hour ceremony. David and Jim, members of the Province, family, and friends, celebrated the ordination at a Province reception and banquet on Saturday evening.

Feature stories about Jim, who will serve at St. Procopius this year, and David, who will pursue an advanced degree in spiritual direction, will appear in the upcoming issue of Partners magazine. in the meantime, please feel free to browse the ordination photo gallery below. You may also enjoy reading some reflections that Jim captured in the days following his ordination.

During ordination weekend, members of the Province also gathered to commemorate the jubilees of 22 Jesuits who have served for 50 years as Jesuits or as priests, or for 60 years as Jesuits or as priests. There are also pictures from the Mass for jubilarians in the gallery below.
