The Legacy of St. Francis Xavier Is Alive and Well in Cincinnati
In this Jubilee Year, three Cincinnati-based ministries named for St. Francis Xavier are celebrating milestones of their own. Karl Hauck and Mark Motz of St. Xavier High School and Dr. Roger Fortin of Xavier University detail how their schools have been educating students in the Jesuit tradition for 175 years. Fr. Eric Knapp, SJ, pastor of St. Xavier Church, shows how the "Church in the Marketplace" has served thousands in the Ignatian tradition for 161 years. (view story)

Helping the Helpless
St. Xavier Social Centre in Kathmandu, Nepal, has been serving the homeless, drug addicted, and disabled since it was founded in 1970 by American Jesuit Fr. Thomas E. Gafney, SJ. What began as an effort to help homeless boys has grown into a multifaceted center that includes outreach programs in the war-torn rural areas of Nepal. (view story)
